International flair added to Jazz Festival
The City of Windhoek has announced the addition of four acclaimed international artists to the 2025 Windhoek Jazz Festival, further enhancing an already impressive line-up for the annual musical showcase.Joining South African music legend Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, the festival’s international stage will feature Mozambique’s renowned saxophonist and composer Moreira Chonguiça, celebrated South African vocalist Kelly Khumalo, soulful songstress Zama Jobe, Botswana’s folk-jazz innovator Sereetsi & The Natives, and dynamic South African performer Henry Philemon.
The festival will also spotlight leading Namibian acts, including Bongani Soul, Sigera Jazz Jazz, Swingers Jazz Band, Ugly Creatures, Esme Songbird, Botselo and Harmonic Grooves.
Speaking at the official launch, Windhoek mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja said the festival had evolved into one of the capital’s most anticipated cultural events. “The Windhoek Jazz Festival has grown into a platform that celebrates creativity, diversity, and unity through the universal language of music,” she said. “It plays a vital role in positioning Windhoek as a vibrant cultural hub that promotes arts, tourism, and investment.”
The 2025 Windhoek Jazz Festival will take place at Hage Geingob Stadium, promising an unforgettable evening of world-class performances.
Tickets are available via Webticket at N$350 until 31 October and N$400 on 1 November, when the event takes place.
