Pianist Dieter Köhnlein to perform in the capital

The German Embassy announced a piano jazz concert by the German musician Dieter Köhnlein.
Köhnlein is a pianist and composer who performs his own compositions. He was born in Ansbach in 1959 and soon started playing classical piano followed by playing in blues, rock, funk and fusion bands.
Thereafter he began focusing on jazz-oriented groups and studied music education at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
Since the early 1980s, Köhnlein has recorded several CDs and has toured extensively around the world, both solo as well as with bands. He has won many awards for his work, including the Cultural Award of the City of Nuremberg, as well as receiving the Cultural Award of the Bavarian District Mittelfranken.
The concert takes place at the Deutsche Höhere Privatschule Windhoek in Church Street on 2 September at 19:00 and entrance is free. It is the first time that he will be performing in Namibia and his only public performance.
