Ster-Kinekor has taken over the ownership of the cinemas at the Grove and Maerua shopping centers - which were previously franchises. Both theaters have been closed for renovations since September.
One of the new additions are brand new self-help screens.
"The halls have been renovated to meet Ster-Kinekor's high standards," Lynne Wylie, Ster-Kinekor's head of marketing, told our sister publication, Republikein.
Movie buffs can look forward to a variety of movies, including the worldwide release of the highly anticipated concert movie, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.
The movie gives a look behind the scenes of the famous singer's record-breaking Renaissance world tour of 56 performances in 39 cities.
The other movie that will start shooting on 1 December is Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
Although Jennifer Lawrence, who played the lead role in the previous four movies, will not be returning for the latest movie, we can look forward to a cast that includes celebrities and some lesser-known faces.
Viola Davis, known for her roles in How to get away with murder and The Help, makes her appearance in the movie, as well as Peter Dinklage who gained fame as Tyrion Lannister in the popular series Game of Thrones.
Rachel Zegler, who became best known after her movie debut as María in Steven Spielberg's musical adaptation West Side Story, plays the female lead.
Superhero enthusiasts can get ready for The Marvels - a movie that puts female heroes in the spotlight with the focus on Captain Marvel played by Brie Larson.
The younger ones can look forward to Trolls Band Together - the third movie in the popular Trolls series - as well as the animated movie Wish.
For the history buffs, the movie Napoleon also starts filming on the big screen from 1 December. The movie is about the rise and fall of the iconic French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte with Oscar winner Joaquin Phoenix playing the titular role.
