Windhoek Show set for five days of fun
The 2026 Windhoek Agricultural & Livestock Show will feature a fireworks display on Thursday, 1 October, giving visitors an opportunity to watch the night sky light up above the Windhoek Showgrounds. The fireworks are scheduled to start at 20:00 at the Windhoek Showgrounds as part of the entertainment programme running alongside the annual show. The Livestock Section will not participate in the Show this year after the recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease.
The Windhoek Show is taking place from 29 September to 3 October 2026, with visitors encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the various attractions before the fireworks display. Admission to the fireworks and show is priced at N$50 for adults, while children aged six to 18 will pay N$30. A season ticket costs N$115. Children under the age of six and visitors aged 60 and above will be admitted free of charge. Organisers have also introduced online ticket sales this year in response to concerns about long queues at the gates. Visitors can purchase their tickets using a phone or computer before arriving at the Showgrounds, allowing them to spend less time waiting and more time enjoying the event.
The show will offer a range of attractions and activities, including the Just Fun Amusement Park, livestock competitions and other entertainment. The Just Fun Amusement Park is set to provide family entertainment throughout the event, with attractions including a merry-go-round and other amusement activities.
Visitors attending the show on Thursday are therefore expected to have an opportunity to combine the day's activities with the fireworks display scheduled for 20:00. With the event running until 3 October, organisers are encouraging visitors to make use of the attractions on offer and plan their visits in advance, including purchasing tickets online to avoid queues at the entrance.
