Capricorn launches Social Value Report

Capricorn Group has released its 2025 Social Value Report, highlighting the group’s ongoing commitment to empowering communities and driving positive change in Namibia and Botswana.
The report, which covers the year ending 30 June 2025, outlines investments of N$26.7 million (2024: N$25.8 million) in corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. These initiatives addressed urgent social challenges, including education, job creation, poverty alleviation, food security, malnutrition, health and sports development.
This year also marks the fifth anniversary of the Capricorn Foundation. Since its establishment in 2020, the foundation has invested N$41.6 million in more than 100 projects, making it a key partner in community upliftment across Namibia.
“We are proud of the progress made in addressing Namibia’s pressing social issues,” said Gerhard Fourie, chairperson of Capricorn Group and the Capricorn Foundation. “Our achievements show the impact of collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven action in building a more inclusive and resilient society in both Namibia and Botswana.”
The report also highlights the foundation’s partnerships, alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the success of its Changemaker Programme, which encourages employee volunteerism. Subsidiaries contributing to these efforts include Bank Windhoek, Capricorn Asset Management, Entrepo and Bank Gaborone.
Looking ahead, the group plans to expand its impact further, including establishing the Capricorn Foundation in Botswana.
The launch of the Social Value Report comes ahead of Capricorn Group’s Integrated Annual Report and financial results, set for release on 19 September 2025.
