Financial education masterclass launched countrywide

Old Mutual launched its very first financial education masterclass, designed to empower Namibians with the knowledge and tools to take control of their financial futures.
In a bid to ensure this opportunity reaches those who can benefit the most, Old Mutual is calling on people from all corners of the country to fill out a short online survey and register their interest in attending the free masterclass.
Based on the response, two regions will be selected to host the first masterclasses, with the official announcement set for 11 August 2025 on Old Mutual’s social media pages. The sessions will take place in September or October 2025.
Mignon du Preez, Old Mutual Namibia’s Executive for Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability, shared, “As part of our long-term commitment to improving financial literacy, we’re proud to expand this initiative to all 14 regions of Namibia. Starting in 2026, we’ll be rolling out the programme to two new regions each year, ensuring every part of Namibia benefits from increased financial knowledge.”
Each masterclass will kick off with a keynote by John Manyike, a financial education expert and creator of the On The Money (OTM) programme, under the theme ‘Unlocking Your Financial Future with OTM’.
Participants will not only gain valuable financial insights and practical tools but will also receive a certificate of attendance to mark their commitment to improving their financial well-being.
OTM is Old Mutual’s well-established programme that simplifies money management through storytelling and relatable African metaphors. It covers essential topics such as budgeting, saving, debt management, planning, and investing, helping individuals make smart, sustainable financial choices. The programme has already impacted thousands of Namibians, including youth, employees, and entrepreneurs.
