Minister encourages local manufacturing

Minister of Urban and Rural Development, James Sankwasa on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to Dinapama Manufacturing and Supplies Factory in Windhoek, following an invitation from the management and staff of the organisation. During the visit, Sankwasa engaged with both management and staff, urging them to continue contributing to local economic growth through quality manufacturing and job creation. He also called on Namibian companies and government institutions to prioritise the use of locally produced goods and to support Dinapama in driving sustainable growth within the country. Speaking at the factory, he commended Dinapama for its contribution to national development, stating: “If uniforms for the police and defence force can be produced internationally, they can certainly be produced locally. I am impressed that you are not only working for yourselves, but for Namibia as a whole. The skills you are imparting to Namibian youth are invaluable. Keep expanding.” Dinapama Manufacturing and Suppliers Managing Director, David Namalenga, thanked the Minister for visiting the factory, engaging with workers and encouraging them to work hard towards national development. Dinapama commenced operations in 2010 and currently employs approximately 536 people, including 15 employees with disabilities.
