OL companies win top honours at National Quality Awards

Three Ohlthaver & List (OL) operating companies have received national recognition at the 2026 Namibian Standards Institute (NSI) National Quality Awards, winning or placing in five Large Enterprise categories.

The awards were presented on 14 October to mark World Standards Day.

OL Leisure won both categories it entered, taking the titles of Large Enterprise Service of the Year and Large Enterprise Company of the Year.

Model received a certificate of recognition for Company of the Year, marking its first appearance at the awards. Hartlief’s Continental Meat Product team won Large Enterprise Exporter of the Year and finished as second runner-up in the Large Enterprise Product of the Year category.

Franziska Rüeck, OL’s chief experience officer, said the awards recognised the work of the three companies’ teams and reinforced the group’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement. “World Standards Day celebrates the organisations and individuals who continually raise the bar, and that spirit resonates strongly with us at OL,” she said.

“These awards recognise the exceptional work of the Model, OL Leisure and Hartlief teams, and reinforce something bigger: our belief that standards matter because people matter.”

Rüeck said the group aimed to build trust through the products and services it provided, from hospitality and customer service to supporting local suppliers and taking Namibian products to international markets. She added that OL used regular feedback and performance assessments to identify areas for improvement.
