IndiFurn located at the Old Power Station in Windhoek’s Southern Industrial Area is a treasure trove of original handmade Indian furniture.New stock arrived in January this year directly from India for the nostalgic buyer who wants something special for his or her living space.
Mostly indigenous raw materials like mango wood and reclaimed teak are used for the production of highly artistic works of functional furniture. In particular, diverse chests, cupboards, sideboards, book racks and chairs to name but a few are available here.
All items found in the showroom are hand-picked and selected by the shop owner in India at least once or twice a year. Despite Covid-19 presenting unfortunate restrictions on travel movements and stock imports, the shop continued and remained operational.
With between three and four containers of used furniture purchased late last year, the shop is fully stocked and equipped with more than enough furniture to pick and choose from. Lodges, farms and guesthouses remain among the biggest buyers.
