Copper cable theft

Copper cable valued at around N$100 000 was stolen between Thursday at 23:45 and Friday at 01:30 on the corner of Hans Dietrich Genscher and Juuso Katangolo street in Katutura. According to the police, it is alleged that four unknown males unlawfully and intentionally opened Telecom Namibia’s main cable hole, cut off the copper cables and removed it, which resulted in communication disruption. City Police members were alerted but upon arrival, only found a saw and a pick axe at the crime scene. The suspects fled in various directions, but two of four suspects were apprehended. No recovery has been made yet.
