Fuel theft by government employee

Three arrested
A government employee and two members of the public have been charged for the unauthorised use of a GRN fleet fuel card.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) said in a media statement that Nickey Simasiku Mutame, a senior policy analyst in the works ministry, as well as Denise Dausas and Koeloemeid Tshantshana - both cashiers at a service station in Okahandja - are facing corruption charges for using a GRN fleet fuel card to make unauthorised transactions of more than N$80 000 for personal gain between February and March 2022.
The ACC said that the trio had been arrested on 11 April and appeared in the Okahandja magistrate's court on 12 April. They remain in custody and will appear in court on 10 May 20220 for a formal bail application.
