NamPost prepares for October social cash grant payments
Namibia Post Limited (NamPost) has provided an update for beneficiaries and stakeholders of the Social Cash Grant Payment programme, which kicks off in October 2025 with both payments and re-registration.The payment process will begin with a pilot programme on Thursday, 9 October, at Okahandja and Omitara Post Offices. Mobile payouts will also take place on the same day at Groot Aub and Otjimbingwe. The pilot is intended to test operational readiness ahead of the nationwide cash payment programme, which starts on Monday, 13 October.
In-branch payments
NamPost has outlined a structured schedule for in-branch payouts to ensure efficiency:
• Old-Age Grants: Monday, 13 October – Wednesday, 15 October
• Child and Disability Grants: Thursday, 16 October – Saturday, 18 October
• Conditional Basic Income Grants: Monday, 20 October – Tuesday, 21 October
Beneficiaries are reminded that procurators must be accompanied by the beneficiary during the October or November payment cycle. Those receiving multiple grants can collect all payments during their first visit. Beneficiaries who miss their scheduled dates may visit any NamPost branch from Wednesday, 23 October to Wednesday, 29 October to collect their grants.
Mobile payments
Mobile payments will begin on Monday, 13 October. Locations and schedules will be announced through radio stations, community notice boards, and NamPost’s social media platforms.
NamPost also confirmed that re-registration will now be conducted alongside the October payment programme, rather than in December as previously planned. Beneficiaries must present a valid national ID or passport together with their current grant card at both in-branch and mobile payout points.
Special arrangements will be made for bedridden beneficiaries. Procurators or representatives should notify NamPost or the local councillor’s office to ensure assistance with re-registration.
NamPost emphasised its commitment to ensuring beneficiaries can access their grants safely, conveniently, and with dignity throughout this transition.
