MTC Awards six bursaries for 2026

Mobile Telecommunications Ltd, MTC, through its bursary scheme, has awarded bursaries to six students for the 2026 academic year. The recipients include four new intake students and two continuing students pursuing qualifications in Accounting, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, and Business

Information Systems at the University of Namibia (UNAM), Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST), and the International University of Management (IUM).


The new bursary recipients are Anastasia Twamoneni – 2nd Year Bachelor of Commerce in Chartered Accounting – UNAM, Christian Amukwa – 3rd Year Bachelor Degree in Data Science – UNAM, Meinhold Muyenga – Postgraduate Diploma in Cybersecurity – NUST, Lyuvika Amadhila – Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Honours) – UNAM. Continuing from the 2025 intake are Kadischa Wasserfall – Final Year bachelor’s degree in business information systems at IUM, and Willryna Basson – Final Year Bachelor of

Accounting – NUST.


MTC has allocated N$1.5 million towards the bursary programme for the 2025/26 financial year, reaffirming the company’s continued commitment to aiding the education sector by uplifting dedicated students who are unable to fund their academic fees. Former MTC’s bursary holder, and now the company’s Corporate Communications Specialist, Erasmus Nekundi, congratulated the beneficiaries, expressing that “It is satisfying

to see more students continuing to benefit from the very same bursary program which assisted me in my academic journey some years back.” Nekundi added, “This is not just funding the academic journey but a possible opportunity for the recipients to secure employment opportunities at MTC upon completing their studies.” Since the inception of the bursary programme, MTC has invested a total of N$5.7 million

towards tertiary education support for deserving and talented Namibian students across

various academic disciplines.
