Schoemans launches EduPrint Namibia
Schoemans has officially launched EduPrint Namibia, a national initiative aimed at helping under-resourced schools access essential printing and photocopying technology.
The launch coincided with the handover of multifunction photocopiers to selected schools on 5 March, forming part of the company’s flagship corporate social responsibility programme.
EduPrint Namibia seeks to address the persistent shortage of basic printing facilities in many rural and disadvantaged schools. The programme provides reliable photocopying solutions to institutions that struggle to produce learning and assessment materials for learners.
By improving access to printed educational content, the initiative aims to support teachers, enhance administrative efficiency and promote more equal learning opportunities across Namibia.
In many rural communities, schools operate without functional printing equipment, forcing teachers to travel long distances at their own expense to produce basic teaching materials. EduPrint Namibia addresses this challenge by donating refurbished, high-quality multifunction photocopiers and providing operator training and technical support to ensure long-term sustainability.
Development tool
According to Schoemans, the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to using technology as a tool for national development.
“EduPrint Namibia reflects Schoemans’ commitment to using technology as a tool for national development. By empowering schools with reliable printing solutions, we are supporting educators, improving learning environments and contributing to Namibia’s vision for quality and inclusive education,” the company said.
The official handover ceremony was attended by key stakeholders from the education sector, school leadership and representatives from Schoemans.
Beneficiary schools were selected through a structured process based on need, infrastructure readiness, learner numbers and the potential for community impact.
Beyond donating the equipment, EduPrint Namibia includes installation and commissioning of the machines, training for a dedicated school-based operator, initial consumables and ongoing technical support to ensure sustainable educational outcomes.
