Unite to uplift Golden Hills Primary School
The school, established under emergency circumstances after severe flooding displaced families during the 2025 rainy season, continues to operate from temporary tents with limited facilities. Recognising the urgent need for safe and functional learning spaces, Capricorn Group and its ChangeMakers mobilised resources and expertise to provide a fully converted shipping container serving as an office and storage room, along with a printer, stationery, and essential cleaning materials. To amplify the impact, Capricorn Group partnered with Namibian companies Neo Paints, Transworld Cargo and Integrated Branding. These partners contributed paint, transportation support, and branded stencilling and logo plates, showcasing the power of crosssector
collaboration to improve conditions for more than 700 learners.
On Friday, 13 February, Capricorn Changemakers and representatives from the three partner organisations joined officials from the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports Arts and Culture at the school to officially hand over the items. “Education is the foundation on which nations grow. These learners deserve every opportunity to thrive,” said Marlize Horn, Group Chief Brand and Corporate Affairs Officer at Capricorn
Group. “As Connectors of Positive Change, we are committed to uplifting communities through meaningful partnerships. This project demonstrates that when purposedriven organisations unite, lasting impact follows.”
Although unable to attend in person, Dino Ballotti, Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sports Arts and Culture, expressed appreciation in a speech delivered on his behalf, thanking Capricorn Group and partners for providing both essential resources and the volunteer spirit embodied by the ChangeMakers. He noted that such initiatives strengthen publicprivate collaboration and inspire learners to pursue their full potential.
The school’s Acting Principal, Iyambo, shared heartfelt gratitude, explaining that the support directly advances their motto learn, grow, thrive by creating a more nurturing and functional environment for the children.
