The National Youth Development Fund has approved 373 youth-owned projects across Namibia’s 14 regions, with the initiatives expected to create approximately 7,110 employment opportunities. According to the Ministry of Finance’s FY2026/27 Mid-Year Budget Review Statement, the fund has grown to N$317 million, with N$110.2 million disbursed through the Development Bank of Namibia, Agribank and the Environmental Investment Fund as at 25 September 2026.

The fund comprises N$258 million appropriated in the 2025/26 financial year, N$50 million allocated in 2026/27, and contributions of N$5 million each from NamPort and NamibRe, as well as N$2.5 million from the Namibia Agronomic Board. The initiative aims to support youth entrepreneurship and promote employment creation through funding for youth-owned businesses across the country. The government says the approved projects are expected to contribute to job creation while expanding economic opportunities for young people in all 14 regions.

The figures were outlined in the mid-year budget review, which highlights youth empowerment and employment creation among the government’s development priorities.
