Satellite communication device for Gobabeb
Deep Yellow Limited, together with its subsidiary Reptile Mineral Resources and Exploration (Pty) Ltd (RMR), demonstrated its commitment to safety in remote areas through the donation of two Garmin inReach Mini 2 satellite communications devices valued at N$17 680 to improve the safety of those involved, especially students working in remote areas such as the Gobabeb Training and Research Center (GTRC), known for its desert research.The donation ensures that people in remote regions have reliable means of communication to meet security needs.
Dr Katrin Kaerner, senior geologist at RMR, emphasised the importance of reliable communications for safety and highlighted the Garmin inReach Mini 2's features, including messaging, social media updates and an interactive SOS feature for emergencies. In addition to providing immediate safety, this contribution highlights RMR's commitment to corporate social responsibility and community support.
