MTC Content Creator Awards unveils 2025 nominees
The nominees for this year’s highly anticipated MTC Content Creator Awards 2025 were announced Tuesday, following an overwhelming public response that saw more than 12 000 votes cast. The top four nominees in each of the 21 award categories were revealed and will now battle it out for the top honours at the grand finale on 29 November, where Namibia’s digital stars will be celebrated in style.
The Comedy Content Creator category led the pack as the most-voted category, capturing the nation’s attention with thousands of submissions, nearly double the engagement compared to last year.
This surge highlights both the awards’ growing influence and the strong appetite for celebrating digital voices that entertain, inspire and spark conversation.
In his remarks, MTC’s chief brand, marketing, communications and sustainability officer, Tim Ekandjo, said MTC recognises the challenges content creators face and assured that MTC will assist to build the award to make it a world-class platform.
“Just like any industry, the creator industry comes with its own challenges for content creators, such as limited brand budgets that make collaborations less frequent, access to quality equipment for creators, monetisation issues and the lack of digital skills,” he said.
“Additionally, we need to guard against mental health issues given that this industry consists of mostly young people who are often under pressure to create paid content and take care of themselves and their families in a very competitive space”, Ekandjo added.
Rich pool of talent
Carlos Gurirab, a partner and organiser of the Namibian Content Creators Awards, voiced appreciation to MTC and other sponsors anchoring the event.
“From the Namibian Content Creator Awards team, we would firstly like to thank MTC and our partners One Africa, Fresh FM and Iprint for making it possible to celebrate the creative voices that are shaping Namibia’s stories and give the public the power to uplift their favourite creators.”
The awards were established to recognise and elevate Namibian digital content creators who are shaping conversations, showcasing culture and influencing communities both locally and globally.
This year’s overwhelming response reflects not only the dynamism of Namibia’s content creator landscape but also the rising recognition of digital storytelling as a driver of cultural and economic growth.
From lifestyle bloggers, travel vloggers and gaming streamers to educators, comedians and community advocates, the diversity of submissions underscores the rich talent pool within Namibia.
The ceremony will not only shine a spotlight on Namibia’s leading digital storytellers but also inspire emerging creators to harness the power of digital platforms responsibly and creatively.
Attendees can expect an evening of glamour, entertainment and recognition where Namibia’s digital voices take centre stage.
With nominations closed and nominees unveiled, the countdown to the MTC Content Creators Awards 2025 has officially begun and Namibia’s digital community is buzzing with anticipation.
