Nampa wins Nedbank Media Kapana Cook-Off

The Namibia Press Agency (Nampa) won the media edition of the Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off, which heralded the beginning of the annual competition for SMEs in Windhoek on Friday.
Eighteen media teams made their own Kapana dishes and amazed the judges with their creations, which were judged on hygiene, taste, skill, presentation and creativity. Nampa prepared the best kapana of the day while NBC-Touch FM and NMH's My Zone teams were awarded for best attire and best team spirit respectively.
Sam Ikela, Head of SME Banking at Nedbank Namibia, said at the opening that the SME sector is a key accelerator of Namibian economic growth and that the bank's participation in the competition serves as a ray of hope for aspiring entrepreneurs serve and provide them with a platform to thrive. “The competition is now a cornerstone of Nedbank Namibia’s commitment to supporting the informal market and small and medium enterprises, with the bank having invested a staggering N$8 million since inception,” Ikela said.
As the Nedbank Kapana Cook-Off celebrates its 10th anniversary, Namibians across the country are invited to join in the celebration of culinary excellence, entrepreneurship and the irresistible flavors of Kapana.
The winner will receive a kapana kitchen trailer worth N$100 000, N$10 000 deposited into a Nedbank account and a N$5 000 voucher from Bakpro Vetkoek. The runners-up will also be rewarded with Nedbank accounts and Bakpro vouchers.
