Watch lunar eclipse tonight
A penumbral eclipse of the moon will be visible from 18:15 in Namibia this evening (5 May).The eclipse already starts at 17:14, before the moon even pokes its head over Namibia's horizon. The penumbral eclipse reaches its maximum point at 19:22, before it will come to an end at 21:31.
Space.com explains that during a penumbral eclipse, no part of the moon moves through the dark inner shadow of the earth, which means that there will not be a clear outline of the earth's shadow on the moon.
In the case of a penumbra eclipse, the moon's light may dim somewhat. Space.com says that from the moon, the Earth will appear to partially eclipse the sun.
