Hafeni Petrus: Locomotive welder
Locomotive welder Hafeni Petrus works in the carriage and wagon department of TransNamib where he fixes and repairs the old and worn-out locomotive wagons and carriages, making them safe to transport their designated goods. “I initially pursued welding to take after my uncle who was a welder, but later switched courses to become a boilermaker as I found it more interesting. Even though I did not get a boilermaker position, I am enjoying my job as a welder. I still hope to be a boilermaker someday, but being a welder now does not discourage me.”He advises the youth to study hard and not give up on their dreams.
