Maja Brinkmann continues to make strides as a triathlete. She attributes her prowess to her passion for sports within her extended family. "My extended family is passionate about sport, so I grew up with it," said Brinkmann. Her family's enthusiasm for sports has been instrumental in her pursuits and successes, she said. Growing up, she took part in various friendly games and did sports just for the fun of it. "When we were younger, my cousins and I could compete, and now that we are older, we are able to challenge our parents as well," said Brinkmann. She said she values her strong support system. The majority of her time is dedicated to training and adhering to a rigorous routine.
