Altron HealthTech launches Elixir Live in Namibia

Ushering in a new era of digital healthcare
In a bid to advance healthcare delivery in Namibia, Altron HealthTech, a division of the Altron Group and leader in healthcare technology, officially launched Elixir Live – a secure, cloud-based healthcare practice management system. The solution is tailored to transform healthcare operations while ensuring full compliance with Namibian data protection laws.
The locally hosted Elixir Live platform is designed to help healthcare providers manage clinical and administrative workflows more efficiently, ranging from appointment scheduling and billing to patient engagement and clinical analytics.
“The introduction of Elixir Live into Namibia is both a strategic and geographical step,” said Shaun Ehmke, Senior Manager: Channels at Altron HealthTech. “This expansion empowers healthcare professionals to deliver personalised, proactive care and build more sustainable practice models using secure, data-driven tools.”
Local dealers
The Namibian rollout of Elixir Live is supported by local technology dealers such as Medcon and strategic partner MediSwitch Namibia. These partnerships ensure vital local support, including in-country implementation and user training.
Lencia van Dyk, Country Manager at MediSwitch Namibia, emphasised the urgency of modernisation in the sector: “Namibia’s private healthcare industry has seen over 400% growth in professionals in recent years. This calls for reliable, localised technology infrastructure. Elixir Live not only complies with national data protection standards but also enhances clinical efficiency with smart features like Engage Mx.”
Engage Mx, embedded within Elixir Live, allows for dynamic patient communication, improving care through real-time engagement and personalised health updates. The system also integrates seamlessly with Altron HealthTech’s broader ecosystem, offering electronic claims switching, financial reporting, and tools for better chronic disease management.
Elixir Live’s ability to localise – from currency integration to data regulation compliance – makes it uniquely suited for Namibia’s healthcare environment.
The launch marks the beginning of Altron HealthTech’s broader expansion roadmap into Namibia, with a vision to harness the power of digital healthcare to improve lives, one patient at a time.
“Ultimately, the patient benefits most,” added Ehmke. “Elixir Live enables providers to deliver quality care more efficiently and engage with patients more meaningfully.”
