Changing lives - one child, one smile and one family at a time

Nampharm Foundation marks 20 years of transforming children’s lives
For many Namibian children, living with a cleft lip or cleft palate presents daily challenges far beyond the physical condition. Speech difficulties, nutrition problems, social stigma, and low self-esteem affect not only the children but also place emotional and financial pressure on families struggling to access specialised care.
Since its inception, the Nampharm Foundation has dedicated itself to restoring more than smiles. For 15 years, the foundation has provided free facial reconstructive surgery to children across Namibia, offering medical support, patient education, and access to expert surgical care. Their work has transformed the lives of countless children while alleviating the burdens faced by their families.
This year, the foundation celebrated its 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner, marking two decades of growth and impact. FNB Namibia, through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation, contributed N$300,000 to support Nampharm’s mission of providing free, holistic care to children born with facial deformities. Since 2019, FNB Namibia has invested over N$1.25 million in the foundation’s work.
“It has been an incredible journey walking alongside Nampharm,” said Revonia Job, Group Corporate Social Investment Manager at FirstRand Namibia. “We have witnessed firsthand the remarkable work the foundation does. The difference it makes in the lives of children and their families is immeasurable, restoring hope, confidence, and joy across the country.”
FNB Namibia’s support forms part of its wider commitment to healthcare and community development. Through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation, the bank actively invests in initiatives that improve access to healthcare, enhance quality of life, and build stronger, more resilient communities.
The partnership between FNB Namibia and the Nampharm Foundation highlights a shared vision: ensuring that all Namibian children, regardless of socio-economic background, have access to life-changing healthcare services.
