Spray-a-Thon ’23 launched

The annual national Spray-a-Thon to the benefit of the Cancer Association of Namibia's children's support programme, CHICA, was launched in the capital on Monday.
The 2023 project will kick off on Wednesday 1 March 2023 and schools and corporates will have the opportunity to order hairspray and host their own Spray-a-Thon event until the end of April.
“We have extended this year's campaign over two months to enable more schools and companies to participate and spread the importance of childhood cancer awareness, talk about preventative interventions that can be implemented at schools especially, and help raise funds for the CHICA programme,” said Rolf Hansen, CAN chief executive.
Every year the Spray-a-Thon raises around N$250 000 for the CHICA Fund that helps sustain the CHICA Interim Home, the CHICA patient support programme and support Ward 8 West, the Paediatric Oncology Unit at the Windhoek Central Hospital.
