Airport road nearing completion

Ogone Tlhage
The Roads Authority (RA) says construction on the new airport road will be completed by November 2024.
The N$949 million project will give road users access to the Hosea Kutako International Airport (HKIA) via a dual carriageway.
The project received a further boost with contractors gaining access to farmland through which the road is expected to run, said Conrad Lutombi, RA chief executive.
He also briefly mentioned the new Rehoboth access road, which will give road users entering from the south access to the A1 dual carriageway without entering Windhoek.
The road construction started in March 2020 and will connect the capital and the airport. Around 300 people are expected to be employed during the construction phase. The project is financed by an amount of N$1 billion made available by China.
