The Roads Authority (RA) officially opened the newly constructed roundabout connecting the Hosea Kutako International Airport to the Dr. Hage G. Geingob Freeway yesterday.
RA CEO Conrad Lutombi confirmed that the roundabout is now accessible to traffic, including residents near the airport and users of the police station. He also provided an update on the remaining roadworks, including that section 2B of the freeway is 99.9% complete, while section 2A stands at 94%, with full completion expected by the end of August and the official freeway opening set for mid-September.
The 49 km dual carriageway project cost N$3 billion, funded through a Chinese government grant and an African Development Bank loan, with no cost overruns anticipated. - [email protected]
