Auas Road lane closure announced
Motorists have been advised of temporary traffic changes and lane closures along Auas Road in Windhoek, as construction and upgrade works on another section of the road are set to begin on 1 June 2026.
According to a public notice, the affected section stretches from Sean McBride Street to Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue.
The southbound lane of Auas Road between Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue and Sean McBride Street will be temporarily closed for the duration of the project. Traffic will be redirected to the northbound lane between these two roads.
The construction works are expected to continue until 30 July 2027.
Road users have been urged to exercise caution while travelling through the area and to adhere strictly to traffic signs, speed limits and barricades around the construction zone.
Authorities apologised for the inconvenience caused and appealed to the public for patience and cooperation while the road upgrades are underway.
