The City of Windhoek this week announced upcoming street resealing and preparatory activities that will be taking place until mid-December.
Affected areas include Independence Avenue - spanning from the Ausspannplatz circle to Etna Street - as well as the full length of Hosea Kutako Drive.
In a public statement, the City urged drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution while using these streets during the scheduled maintenance operations.
“Due to the nature of the work and the high bituminous temperatures involved, it is crucial to strictly adhere to the traffic signage, speed restrictions and barricading placed around the construction zones,” it said.
Construction work is set to commence on Monday, 14 August, and is expected to continue for several months until mid-December. The purpose of these roadworks is to improve the overall quality and safety of the affected streets, ensuring a smoother driving experience for all, the municipality said.
