On Friday, the Windhoek municipality announced another success linked to its water drilling campaign near Groot Aub.
City of Windhoek spokeswoman, Lydia Amutenya, said on behalf of the municipality: "We are pleased to announce another success in Groot Aub."
The CoW, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, has completed the borehole called Kumbee. At a depth of 112 metres, Kumbee currently has a water flow of 450 cubic meters per hour, the highest flow of any borehole drilled during the campaign, according to Amutenya.
In addition to the drilling, the municipality is also working on a 3 km main water pipeline from the Groot-Aub Reservoir to the Oshakati settlement at the village.
The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development has allocated a budget of N$68.476 million for Groot Aub.
