Relief for congested Auas Road

Finally, it looks like the congestion faced by hundreds of Auas Road users on a daily basis may be coming to an end, with the Roads Authority and the City of Windhoek having appointed Lithon Project Consultants to conduct the design and construction supervision of this traffic-heavy road.
The project involves the upgrade of Auas Road to a dual carriageway from the Sean McBride intersection to the Mandume Ndemufayo intersection, where a new taxi rank is envisaged.
Furthermore, Enviro Dynamics has been appointed to conduct the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the project, in line with the Namibian Environmental Management Act and its regulations.
In the meantime, stakeholders are invited to register to be part of this project, to raise issues and concerns that should be considered during the assessment, and to receive the findings thereof.
