Residents receive land certificates
The mayor of Windhoek, Sade Gawanas, on Saturday handed over 1 120 Certificates of Land Occupation to residents of Patrick Iyambo and Gabes Shihepo areas in Havana of the Moses Garoeb Constituency. These certificates ensure the registration of informal structures and acknowledge the occupation of a piece of land; the residents will sign lease agreements for the land they are occupying. This initiative is part of the council's decision to formalise the informal settlements and to be able to deliver more services in a coordinated manner.
