A crown, a car, a new home: Miss Namibia prize sets new benchmark
The Miss Namibia Organisation, in partnership with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and powered by Debmarine Namibia, on Wednesday unveiled the most lavish prize package in the pageant’s history, totalling a staggering N$1.6 million in rewards for the newly crowned Miss Namibia 2025, Johanna Swartbooi.This year’s queen will reign with more than just a crown.
For the first time, Miss Namibia will become a homeowner, receiving a brand-new N$750 000 house courtesy of the National Housing Enterprise. She will also take the wheel of a Toyota Starlet Cross, valued at more than N$305 000 and sponsored by Pupkewitz Toyota – hers to keep after her reign.
The prize package reflects a balance of glamour and practicality.
Swartbooi will receive N$150 000 in cash, a monthly allowance of N$3 000, and a three-year scholarship worth N$85 000 from Lingua International College.
Beauty and wellness remain central to the crown’s benefits, with I AM Hair & Beauty, Oukolule Wellness Team and Primo Beauty offering services valued at N$850 000, alongside professional photography by KeenStudio worth N$144 000.
Jewellery and style accessories will come courtesy of Windhoek Optics, which is gifting Daniel Hechter watches and sunglasses valued at N$52 000 to the Top 3 Miss Namibia contestants.
The winner is also being gifted health products from Tuli Line Cosmetics worth N$39 000, dental care from OralWise Dental Studio, and a heifer from His Majesty, the King of Ondonga, valued at N$15 000, a nod to tradition amid the luxury.
Runner-ups will also see substantial rewards: Uatjiri Mbaisa, first runner-up, will take home N$70 000, while second runner-up Tuilika Andreas will receive N$50 000.
Both, along with the rest of the Top 10 finalists, will receive smaller cash awards and Nampost savings accounts.
The winners of the titles of Miss Photogenic, Miss Congeniality and Miss Public Choice each receive N$5 000 cash, ensuring recognition beyond the main crown.
The message is clear: Miss Namibia 2025 is not only a title of prestige but also a life-changing leap, complete with keys to a home, a car and a future backed by financial, educational and wellness support.
