Journey with Aitsa!
The first bi-weekly Aitsa show made its debut on oneuptwo.com, NTV (DStv channel 285 and GOtv channel 25), Network Media Hub, and the NTV Afrikaans YouTube channels on Wednesday, 16 July at 20:30.According to Aitsa presenter Otis Daniels, the brand, launched on 1 April, is now well-established and drawing attention wherever his journey of discovering people and places takes him.
“Aitsa has become a trusted brand with 3 500 followers on our Facebook page and a reach of over 500 000 people,” Daniels said.
The brand features local content and tells the stories of people and their towns across various platforms, including television and social media.
“My mission is to explore those so-called ‘little towns’ and share with viewers and readers the cultures and traditions of the extraordinary people living there. I encourage everyone to take the road less travelled and experience the unique aspects these places and people offer.”
Aitsa will not only focus on southern Namibia. “Aitsa belongs to everyone. This part of the world is the heartbeat of Africa, and the idea is also to visit the Northern Cape in South Africa and eventually capture the whole of Africa. We don’t want to limit ourselves,” Daniels added.
In the maiden episode, Daniels visited and kicked up dust at the Koës Pan Rally. He also spoke to a nurse and doctors in Lüderitz about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign to be launched on 8 August. The show concluded with a visit to the Quiver Tree Forest and Giant’s Playground on Farm Gariganus, located about 14 km north-east of Keetmanshoop.
Daniels encourages community members with interesting stories to get in touch. “Connect with me on 081 299 1211, and let us show Africa and the world what the people of the south are all about by sharing our stories, culture, and traditions.”
