New Lotto Runners app turns errands into jobs

A Windhoek start-up is turning everyday errands into paid opportunities for students and jobseekers. Lotto Runners, founded in 2019, has launched a dedicated mobile app that connects clients with vetted “Runners” to manage tasks efficiently while providing employment.
The company began with a simple idea: help clients be in two places at once. In 2020, founder Silvanus Lotto was recognised as “Entrepreneur of the Week” by Launch Namibia. Building on this recognition and years of concierge-style service, Lotto Runners is now scaling its impact through technology.
“We understand the stress of running errands,” said Lotto. “But we also see the potential in our community. This app isn’t just a convenience tool - it’s an employment lifeline. We’re recruiting and thoroughly vetting a network of Runners, trusted individuals who are paid to manage tasks for others. Clients get reliable, stress-free service; Runners earn a dependable income.”
How the app works
The platform allows clients to book, track, and pay for services entirely from their phone. It eliminates long queues and system downtime, while all Runners are screened and supported to ensure trust and reliability.
Services offered include: Deliveries (motorcycles and various truck sizes); vehicle registration and licence disc renewals; document certification and submissions; personal shopping; city rides; queue sitting at any office; assistance for pensioners and persons with disabilities; and house and pet sitting.
Over the past seven years, Lotto Runners has earned a reputation for reliability, bridging a critical gap for busy professionals, students, and businesses.
“We’re more than an errand company; we’re partners in a simpler life,” the team said. “With this app, booking an errand also creates a job. It’s that simple.”
