Petrus Amuthenu and Frans Uunona, who are known for their mural on their way to Okahandja of a cheetah chasing a gemsbok, are currently busy with another large creation in Windhoek. The wall is located at the Snyman Circle and features a woman’s face.
According to Uunona, Namibia Dairies approached them to paint the mural.
“They approached us to paint a mural inspired by Namibian cultures. Different paintings on various walls are done all over Windhoek. When we're done here, we'll paint another one on a wall at the Warehouse Theatre. It means a lot to us. Not only can we do what we love, but we work with exceptional colours and we create something that celebrates all Namibian cultures. No one was excluded,” he said.
Amuthenu designed the woman's painting and Uunona the one they'll start working on next week.
The two artists also created murals in Oranjemund.
“The one we created in Oranjemund was twice as large as this one. We are grateful for the opportunity to beautify Windhoek. Art is important; it can brighten up your day and make it better. We get the opportunity to be a small part of it,” he said.
