More than 30 Capricorn Group ChangeMakers, together with 19 members of the Capricorn Eagles, Namibia’s national women’s cricket team, joined NeoPaints, Central Knights Security and Imago Dei for a community outreach initiative at Namibia Children’s Home. Namibia Children’s Home provides care to more than 120 orphans and vulnerable children. Coordinated by Capricorn Group, the initiative was driven by a shared commitment to investing in Namibia’s children and creating safe, uplifting spaces where they can play, grow and simply be children.

Ahead of the outreach, Capricorn Group employees donated warm clothing, socks, beanies and small blankets, which were handed over to the Children. A key focus of the initiative was the renovation of the Home’s play park, an important outdoor space where the children can relax, interact and enjoy time together. Capricorn Group ChangeMakers and partner volunteers assisted with cleaning, painting and general improvements to help make the area brighter, safer and more welcoming.

NeoPaints, a proudly Namibian company known for its quality locally produced paints, sponsored paint for the beautification work. Charlton Coetzee, paint specialist and member of the NeoPaints team also joined the outreach, contributing practical, hands-on support throughout the day. Central Knights Security, a local security service provider, has committed to supporting further renovations to the play park equipment that found broken, helping to improve the safety and usability of the space for the children. Imago Dei, which supports Capricorn Group in identifying local charities and areas of need, played an important role in connecting the ChangeMakers with Namibia Children’s Home and guiding the initiative toward meaningful impact.

The Capricorn Eagles brought energy, encouragement, and inspiration to the day. Their involvement created memorable moments for the children and reinforced the importance of teamwork, leadership, and positive role modelling. Additionally, the Capricorn Eagles contributed further by donating two cricket kits to the home.

Capricorn Group ChangeMakers join partners to uplift Namibia Children’s Home, Emilia Nzuzi, Chief Superintendent for Namibia Children’s Home, said:

“On behalf of the children and staff of the Namibia Children's Home, we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Capricorn Group ChangeMakers and their partner volunteers

for their generous support and commitment to improving the lives of our children. We are deeply thankful for the donation of warm clothing, socks, beanies, and small blankets that were handed over to the children. These items will provide much-needed warmth and comfort during the cold winter season and demonstrate your care and concern for the well- being of the children in our care.

We also greatly appreciate the renovation of the Home's play park, an important outdoor space where the children can relax, interact, and enjoy recreational activities. Your assistance with cleaning, painting, and carrying out general improvements has transformed the area into a brighter, safer, and more welcoming environment for the children.” Marlize Horn, Group Chief Brand and Corporate Affairs Officer of Capricorn Group, said: “Through the ChangeMakers programme, we bring our purpose of being Connectors of Positive

Change to life by giving our employees opportunities to serve communities in practical and meaningful ways. This outreach reflects what is possible when people and partners come together to support children, uplift shared spaces and invest in Namibia’s future.”

The initiative forms part of Capricorn Group’s ongoing commitment to connecting employees, partners and community stakeholders around activities that respond to real needs and create lasting, positive change.

Through the combined efforts of Capricorn Group ChangeMakers, the Capricorn Eagles, NeoPaints, Central Knights Security and Imago Dei, the outreach demonstrated the impact that can be achieved when communities work together with care, purpose and action.
