Clean-up campaign reaches 7de Laan
Residents of 7de Laan in Otjomuise joined the City of Windhoek for its 10th Mayoral Clean-Up Campaign on 25 July, in an effort to tackle illegal dumping and promote greater responsibility for the city's environment.
The clean-up campaign formed part of the municipality's efforts to encourage communities to play an active role in keeping their neighbourhoods clean, safe and healthy.
Beyond improving public health, the initiative focused on protecting the environment, reducing illegal dumping and clearing stormwater drainage systems to help prevent blockages. It also sought to strengthen community pride and encourage residents to take ownership of their surroundings.
The City of Windhoek said the campaign would continue to be rolled out in communities across the capital, reaffirming its commitment to building a cleaner and more sustainable city. The initiative also highlighted the importance of cooperation between the municipality and residents in maintaining public spaces and creating a healthier environment for everyone.
