Commuters Travelling to and from Windhoek

Commuters travelling between Windhoek and surrounding towns such as Okahandja, Osona, Groot-Aub, Rehoboth, Dordabis and Gobabis are advised to take note of the latest taxi fares currently being charged by drivers. According to taxi drivers operating on these routes, passengers travelling from Okahandja to Windhoek will now pay N$90. Drivers indicated that the fare was initially expected to increase to N$92, but they decided to keep it at N$90 for commuters.


Passengers travelling from Okahandja to Groove Mall in Windhoek will pay N$110, while those travelling to Maerua Mall will be charged N$100. Commuters travelling from Osona to Windhoek will pay N$80.

One of the taxi drivers from Groot-Aub explained that transport fees from Windhoek to Groot-Aub range between N$60 and N$70, depending on how far passengers are travelling within the settlement.


Other fares currently being charged include:

  • Windhoek to Dordabis – N$70
  • Windhoek to Rehoboth – N$70
  • Windhoek to Gobabis – N$265

Commuters are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated prices and budget accordingly to avoid inconvenience during travel.
