The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) is proud to announce the successful completion of the CRAN Values Champions Charity Initiative, which raised and distributed nearly N$100,000.00 in support of healthcare and education institutions across Namibia. The initiative reflects CRAN’s commitment to corporate citizenship and the practical application of its core organisational values.

Launched in January 2021 by CRAN’s Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Values Champions Initiative was established to encourage employees to work collaboratively in teams while promoting a deeper understanding and application of CRAN’s values of Accountability, Agility, Innovation, Inclusivity, and Integrity. Through the initiative, staff members actively participate in community-focused projects that demonstrate the Authority’s commitment to creating a lasting positive impact.

This year, the four (4) Values Teams, namely Accountability, Agility, Innovation, and Integrity, collectively raised N$68,750.00, which was supplemented by a N$30,000.00 contribution from CRAN, resulting in total available funds of N$98,750.00.

The funds were allocated to four (4) deserving beneficiaries. The State Oncology Ward received medical supplies and toiletries valued at N$47,523.92; Simson Immanuel Nama Madawa !Gobs Senior Secondary School in Omaruru received N$40,000.00 for school hall refurbishment materials; Dr. Abraham Iyambo Primary School in Havana received food packs valued at N$5,507.94 and Cuba Primary School received stationery valued at N$5,576.78.

Commenting on the initiative, Emilia Nghikembua, CRAN’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “The Values Champions Charity Initiative demonstrates that our organisational values extend beyond the workplace and into the communities we serve. I am immensely proud of our employees for embracing the spirit of giving and working together to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. This initiative reflects the compassion, accountability, and collective commitment that define CRAN as a responsible corporate citizen.”

Abraham Iita, Chairperson: Values Champions, highlighted the importance of teamwork and shared purpose. “The success of this initiative is a testament to the generosity and dedication of CRAN employees. By combining our efforts and resources, we have been able to support multiple beneficiaries and contribute towards improved healthcare, education, and learner well-being. It demonstrates the powerful impact of collective action and living our values every day.”

With a total expenditure of N$98,738.64, the 2026 Values Champions initiative stands as another successful example of how CRAN employees continue to transform the Authority’s values into tangible community impact.
