The City of Windhoek issued a final reminder to all pensioners regarding the approaching deadline for registration for its debt relief programme.
The last day to register is Friday, 31 May.
Pensioners who have yet to complete their registration are urged to visit the municipality's Katutura Customer Care Centre, located opposite Katutura Shoprite, during office hours.
Participants must bring necessary documentation, including proof of property ownership and identification, to facilitate the process.
The programme is designed to assist residents aged 60 and older who are grappling with unpaid utility bills. The initiative provides significant financial relief by offering a 100% waiver on the principal amount and interest charges of outstanding water and electricity bills accrued up to 30 November 2023.
