DTS clinch Bank Windhoek Ramblers Under-21 Football Crown
On Saturday, 20 June 2026, Deutscher Turn und Sportverein (DTS) was crowned champions of the 2026 Bank Windhoek Ramblers Under-21 Football Tournament. DTS won the Windhoek Edition after a spirited 1-0 victory over Kasaona Football Academy in a tightly contested final at the Ramblers Sports Field. The tournament, supported by Bank Windhoek for the fifth consecutive year, once again delivered a powerful platform for emerging football talent, discipline, teamwork, and community pride.
The head coach and technical director of DTS, Oliver Risser, said he was very proud of the team after enduring a tight schedule. Risser is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He represented Namibia internationally, as well as having spells playing in Norway, Finland, England and Belgium. Held from Wednesday, 17 June to Saturday, 20 June 2026, the Windhoek Edition featured six
teams: Ramblers, DTS, Sport Klub Windhoek (SKW), Kasaona Football Academy, Riverheights Football Academy, and Athletic Club Football Academy. After four days of competitive football, DTS secured the N$10,000 first prize, while Kasaona Football Academy received N$7,500 as runners-up. Riverheights Football Academy finished third and earned N$5,000.

Ramblers Club Chairperson Klaus van Niel thanked Bank Windhoek for its continued sponsorship, noting that the Bank’s support has helped strengthen the tournament’s role as a key development platform for youth football. “This year marks the fifth consecutive year that Bank Windhoek has sponsored this tournament, a remarkable commitment that continues to create opportunities for young footballers to develop their talents, pursue their dreams, and showcase their abilities.
Their investment in youth sport is an investment in the future of our communities, and for that we are truly grateful,” said Van Niel. With the Windhoek Edition concluded, the tournament now shifts south for the Keetmanshoop Edition, which will take place from Friday, 26 June to Sunday, 28 June 2026, at the J. Stephanus Stadium in Tseiblaagte. The participating teams are Keetmanshoop Soccer Academy, Theodore
Football Club, Mariental Sport Club, Westside Football Club, Franz Beckenbauer Football Academy, Oranjemund Football Academy, Kaizen Football Academy, and Aroab Football Academy. With free entry, football supporters, families, and community members are encouraged to attend the Keetmanshoop Edition and support the young players as they compete, grow, and showcase the future of Namibian football.
