Groot Aub community unites for successful clean-up
The City of Windhoek’s Mayoral Clean-Up Campaign in Groot Aub was hailed a great success after residents and community members came together on Saturday, 23 May 2026, to help improve the area’s environment.
The clean-up campaign started at the Constituency Office, where volunteers gathered with enthusiasm and determination to make a positive impact in the community. Armed with cleaning equipment and a shared sense of responsibility, participants worked together to remove litter and improve the surroundings of Groot Aub.
Community members demonstrated strong teamwork and unity throughout the initiative, highlighting the importance of collective action in keeping neighbourhoods clean and healthy. City of Windhoek expressed gratitude to everyone who took part in the campaign, praising the community spirit and dedication shown by residents.
“Together, we showed what can be achieved when we unite for a common cause,” the organisers said.
The campaign forms part of ongoing efforts by the City of Windhoek to encourage environmental awareness and community participation in maintaining clean and sustainable neighbourhoods.
