Introducing Womentum

#SheOwnsHerSuccess
Momentum Metropolitan Namibia unveiled the Womentum campaign on International Women's Day, symbolizing empowerment and celebrating women's achievements. The campaign, represented by an upside down “M,” challenges gender disparities and emphasizes #SheOwnsHerSuccess, acknowledging women's victories in various aspects of life despite a persistent global gender pay gap.
Danille Roostee, Group Executive: Marketing at Momentum Metropolitan Namibia, said that Womentum is more than a trend; it's a call for women to embrace and share their accomplishments, irrespective of size or complexity. The focus is on equal rights, opportunities, and recognition, fostering a just, inclusive, and thriving society.
Womentum encourages women to shape their own narratives of success while promoting inclusivity and inspiring others to recognize their potential. Reflecting on Namibia's progress towards gender equality, Denille highlighted milestones like constitutional amendments and legislative acts that emphasize gender fairness. Namibia's commendable rank in the Global Gender Gap Report 2023 and its adoption of a national action plan on women, peace, and security also demonstrate significant strides.
Despite advancements, challenges persist. Gender wage gaps and imbalances in familial income dynamics remain, and some societal perceptions perpetuate notions of women's subservience. Momentum's guiding principle aligns with empowerment and inclusion. The campaign envisions a realm where women are equipped with resources, mentorship, and support to realize their potential.
Womentum not only celebrates women's achievements but also prompts societal introspection on biases and challenges women face. It underscores the need to cultivate empathy for the multifaceted roles women navigate. Momentum aims to create an ecosystem that addresses these challenges, championing both women's successes and societal progress as a whole.
