Old Mutual Foundation strengthens digital learning through laptop donation to Dr Lemmer High School
The Old Mutual Foundation has donated eight laptops valued at N$90 992 to Dr Lemmer High School in Rehoboth, reinforcing its commitment to education and the development of digital skills among Namibian learners. The donation forms part of the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to improve access to educational resources and technology, ensuring that learners are equipped with the tools needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
The laptops are expected to enhance computer literacy, support teaching and learning activities, and provide learners with greater access to information and digital learning opportunities. Speaking at the official handover ceremony, Old Mutual Foundation Chairperson Patricia Olivier said the donation shows the Foundation’s strong belief in education as a way to create lasting opportunities for future generations. “At the Old Mutual Foundation, we believe that every learner deserves access to the tools and resources that enable them to reach their full potential.
Through this donation, we are investing in digital access, educational opportunity, and the future of young Namibians,” said Olivier. She added that technology plays an increasingly important role in education
and future employability, making access to digital resources critical for learner success. The donation aligns with the Old Mutual Foundation’s Education Pillar, which focuses on supporting initiatives that improve learning outcomes, expand access to educational opportunities, and empower young people through
knowledge and skills development.
School leadership welcomed the contribution, noting that the laptops will support both learners and educators by enhancing classroom activities, research capabilities, and digital learning experiences. Through initiatives such as this, the Old Mutual Foundation continues to invest in education as a catalyst for social and economic development, helping to build a future where more young Namibians have the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
