Old Mutual Investment Group appoints Sepo Haihambo
Old Mutual is pleased to announce the appointment of Sepo Haihambo as Managing Director Designate for the Old Mutual Investment Group (OMIGNAM), effective 1 April 2026. Haihambo is an accomplished executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across banking, investment management and financial services. Previously she served as the Chief Executive Officer for Commercial at First National Bank Namibia and has held several senior leadership and board positions within Namibia’s financial sector. She is a Harvard Business School alumnus and is widely recognised for her strategic insight, strong governance
capability and people-centred leadership style. Her appointment forms part of OMIGNAM’s long-term leadership and succession planning, ensuring the continued delivery of strong investment outcomes, responsible stewardship and sustainable growth on behalf of clients.
Commenting on the appointment, Tassius Chigariro, Group Chief Executive Officer of Old Mutual Namibia, said that “Sepo is a highly respected leader with deep financial services expertise and a strong track record of driving performance while maintaining sound governance. Her strategic mindset, leadership capability and values-driven approach align strongly with Old Mutual’s purpose. We are confident that she will play a critical role in strengthening OMIGNAM’s position and supporting long-term value creation for our clients and stakeholders.” Haihambo expressed her appreciation for the appointment, saying that “I am honoured to be appointed as Managing Director Designate of the Old Mutual Investment Group. Old Mutual also extended its sincere gratitude to Lionel Kannemeyer for his years of dedicated service to OMIGNAM and the Old Mutual Group. Under his leadership, the investment business achieved significant milestones and strengthened its position as a trusted asset manager in the market. “We thank Lionel for his contribution, leadership and commitment over the years. His impact on the business and the people he worked with will be long remembered,” added Chigariro. Haihambo will officially assume her role as Managing Director Designate on 1 April 2026, working closely with the current leadership team to ensure a seamless transition.
