Old Mutual Namibia is pleased to announce the appointment of Josephine Auala as Retail Business Unit Marketing Manager, strengthening the organisation’s marketing capability as it continues to sharpen its focus on customers and the evolving needs of the Namibian market.

Auala brings more than 12 years of experience spanning strategic marketing, brand management, customer insights, stakeholder engagement, campaign management and digital transformation. Before joining Old Mutual Namibia, Auala served as Senior Brand Manager at Bank Windhoek, where responsibilities included strategic marketing support across several business units, campaign strategy and execution, brand positioning and digital transformation initiatives.

Earlier in Auala’s career, she served as Brand Manager at Bank Windhoek and Marketing Officer: Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Namibia. This experience included integrated marketing campaigns, brand strategy, corporate and investment banking marketing, stakeholder management and event marketing.

Welcoming the appointment, Mignon du Preez, Old Mutual Namibia Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability Executive, said Auala’s breadth of experience would complement Old Mutual Namibia’s ongoing focus on building meaningful connections with customers.

“Marketing today has to go beyond visibility. It must help us understand our customers better, respond to their needs and ensure that every interaction with our brand is relevant and meaningful. Josephine brings valuable experience across brand, customer insights and integrated marketing, and we look forward to the contribution she will make as we continue strengthening our Retail business,” said Du Preez.

Commenting on the appointment, Auala said that “I am excited to join Old Mutual Namibia and contribute to a brand that has a strong presence in the lives of Namibians. For me, effective marketing starts with understanding people, what they need, what matters to them and how we can communicate in ways that are genuinely relevant. I look forward to working with the team to build on that connection and support the Retail business through customer-led, impactful marketing.”

Auala holds an Honours degree in Marketing and a Bachelor of Marketing from the Namibia University of Science and Technology. She has also received certification in Marketing Strategy and Project Management Foundations.

The appointment further supports Old Mutual Namibia’s focus on ensuring that its marketing remains closely connected to business priorities and, importantly, to the financial needs and aspirations of its customers.
