Possible water supply interruption in Windhoek
The City of Windhoek has warned residents of a possible water supply interruption affecting most parts of Windhoek following damage to a pipeline supplying water from the Von Bach Water Treatment Plant on 21 May 2026.
According to the City, the disruption is linked to limited water supply from bulk supplier NamWater, with the interruption expected to last for approximately 24 hours. As the incident was unplanned, the City’s available water reserves are currently limited. Residents are therefore urged to use water sparingly and only for essential purposes in order to reduce pressure on the system while restoration efforts continue.
The City of Windhoek has apologised for the inconvenience caused and thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation during the ongoing repairs.
