Seasons boosts prize money to N$650 000
Following the strong interest in Old Mutual (OM) SEED: Seasons and the quality and diversity of applications received so far, the Old Mutual Foundation has expanded the 2026 prize structure to recognise more entrepreneurs across Namibia.
Instead of awarding only three overall winners, OM SEED: Seasons will now award a first-, second- and third-place winner in each of its five categories. This means that 15 entrepreneurs will receive financial support through the 2026 programme. Each category will award: • 1st Place: N$60 000 • 2nd Place: N$40 000 • 3rd Place: N$30 000 This brings the total prize allocation to N$130 000 per category and N$650 000 across all five categories. The five OM SEED: Seasons categories are SEED Level Up, SEED Green, SEED Play, SEED Made and SEED Manufacturing. Together, they recognise entrepreneurs working across youth entrepreneurship, environmental sustainability, sport and fitness, the creative industries, and manufacturing.
“The response to OM SEED: Seasons has shown us the breadth of entrepreneurial talent and potential across Namibia. The applications and business concepts received inspired us to broaden the prize structure and recognise winners in every category. By doing so, we can support more entrepreneurs and celebrate the different ways in which Namibians are building businesses, creating opportunities and contributing to their communities,” said Mignon du Preez, Old Mutual Namibia Group Marketing, Public Affairs and Sustainability Executive.
Entrepreneurs across all 14 regions are reminded that applications close on 30 October 2026. Application forms are available at selected Old Mutual branches across Namibia. Applicants can also access the form by scanning the QR code shared on Old Mutual Namibia’s social media platforms. OM SEED, which stands for Old Mutual Sustainable Economic Empowerment Drive, was established by the Old Mutual Foundation to equip entrepreneurs and grassroots businesses with knowledge, skills, mentorship and resources to help build sustainable enterprises. Eligible entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply before the closing date and take the next step in growing their businesses.
