Earlier this week, Bremen’s international relations officer to Windhoek, Silke Goethe, paid a visit to Windhoek mayor Queen Kamati.
The German city and the Namibian capital have been cooperating on various projects since 2000, and this latest visit focused on the City of Windhoek’s overall sanitation. Goethe is in Windhoek attending a technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programme on green hydrogen.
"The programme is looking at implementing the green hydrogen concept into the TVET curriculum to ensure that Namibia has the capacity, skills and knowledge to implement green hydrogen [plans]," the City said in a statement.
Kamati and Goethe discussed ways in which Windhoek can emulate Bremen to improve sanitation and bring hope and dignity to its residents.
